מתחם חסן ערפה נמצא חמש דקות מלב העיר תל-אביב אך רחוק ממנה אלפי קילומטרים. יואב גורפינקל יוצר הסרט, ליווה את תושבי המקום, רבים מהם משולי החברה, בקרב הישרדות אחרון וחסר סיכוי, אל מול כוחות גדולים וחזקים מהם. דיוקן של חיים פרומים של נפשות שנשארו חולמניות על אף מאבקי ההישרדות היום יומיים.
יואב גורפינקל הוא במאי ומפיק, שחתום על הפקות טלוויזיה רבות, ביניהן הסרט הדוקומנטרי "החנויות של פעם", הסדרה "צו האופנה" עם קרן מור, סדרות הדרמה לנוער "זבנג", "דאוס", "שכונה" וסדרות הריאליטי - "לרדת בגדול" ו-"האח הגדול".

Hassan Arfa Compound (2019)

The daily struggle of residents of the Hassan Arfa compound – a neglected enclave in the heart of Tel Aviv - in the process of being demolished for the construction of new towers. Misha builds a raft in an attempt to flee the country, following an old debt. Homeless Isaac possesses encyclopaedic knowledge. Andrei, a respected graphic designer in the USSR, is now addicted to the "Nice Guy" drug. Attay, a metalworker, receives an eviction order but refuses to leave. Their battered existence erodes in front of the camera, and like a neglected town in the Wild West – money, principles, and despair meet for one final duel.

גיזה, סטודנט צעיר, שב לכפר הולדתה של אמו שנרצחה ברצח העם ברואנדה בהיותו תינוק. הוא הגיע ללמוד על חייה וההיסטוריה של אימו אך נקלע למריבה משפחתית שמקורה ברצח העם. סרט עוצמתי באנושיותו על שואה, זיכרון, שכחה ואהבה.

סגה, צעיר סנגלי עולה על ספינת משא על מנת להגר לאירופה והספינה שוקעת על נוסעיו. חייו של סגה ניצלים, הוא מצליח לחזור לדקר, ומשוטט ברחובותיה עד הניסיון הבא.

Gisa goes to the village of Nkora, native to his mother who disappeared during the genocide. He finds himself in the midst of a family conflict over the fate of the ruins of a house his mother had built. Caught between the contradictions of a changing society, Gisa, who is almost the same age as the new Rwanda, seeks to rediscover his share of the collective memory of a past that belongs to him, but also so far away.
