A protest station for 49 people at the corner of HaSharon and HaGalil streets. A useful public installation, activated in collaboration with the 1:1 Center and neighborhood residents.
Protest is a public right, especially in the days when trust in traditional systems is waning, but it is also a complex mechanism that requires police and municipal permits. Consequently, protests become elaborate productions for a few, located in a limited number of sites, and most often engaged with issues with a consensus wide enough to generate participant volume, the yardstick of its success.
"Protest Station" proposes a new, practical, and concrete urban infrastructure that relies on the police ordinance that stipulates that protests of less than 50 participants do not require permission. “Protest Stations” seek to be deployed throughout the city’s neighborhoods, limited in each case by the number of participants, and to act spontaneously in protest against a wide variety of issues - local, neighborhood, city-wide, national and global - all the while creating a decentralized infrastructure that can also run alongside organized demonstrations operating on a nationwide scale with respect to political and social issues. In this way, the protest has no center - its power is in its decentralization, its presence in the heart of the city's neighborhoods, and the
open invitation it carries, even in the days of coronavirus lockdown.

תחנת מחאה שכונתית ל- 49 איש בפינת הרחובות השרון והגליל. מיצב ציבורי שימושי בשיתוף ובהפעלת מרכז 1:1 ותושבי השכונה שנוצר כחלק מאירועי ״אסטרטגיות יציאה״ של עיריית תל אביב וקרן רבינוביץ׳.
המחאה היא זכות ציבורית, בייחוד בימים בהם האמון במערכות המסורתיות הולך וקורס, אולם היא גם מנגנון מורכב הדורש אישורים מהמשטרה ומרשויות עירוניות. כך מחאות הופכות להפקות מורכבות הנשמרות בידי מעטים, ממוקמות במספר אתרים מצומצם, ועוסקות לרוב בנושאים בעלי קונסנזוס רחב מספיק בכדי לייצר נפח משתתפים, על פיו נמדדת הצלחתם.
״תחנת מחאה״ מציעה תשתית עירונית חדשה, פרקטית וקונקרטית, הנשענת על פקודת המשטרה לפיה מחאה של פחות מ-50 משתתפים אינה דורשת אישור. ״תחנות מחאה״ מבקשות להיפרס בשכונות העיר, מוגבלות על ידי מספר המשתתפים, ולפעול באופן ספונטני כדי להתנגד בנושאים מגוונים -מקומיים, שכונתיים או עירוניים - בעוד הן מייצרות תשתית מבוזרת אשר יכולה לפעול גם במקביל למחאות מאורגנות בנושאים פוליטיים וחברתיים בקנה מידה ארצי. כך שלמחאה אין מרכז - כוחה הוא בביזורה, בנוכחותה בלב שכונות העיר, ובהזמנה הפתוחה שהיא נושאת, גם בימים של סגר.
